Khanom Tian

Ingredients batter for khanom tian
- Glutinouis rice flour Amarinthip 500 g
- Coconut sugar 200-300 g
- Water 350 ml
- Gnaphalium affine 30 g
Ingredients filling for khanom tian
- Split Mung Beans 1 kg
- Minced Garlic 50 g
- Pepper
- Sliced Shallots 70 g
- Salt 1/2 tbsp
- Sugar 100 g

Instructions for filling khanom tian
Step 1:
Rinse the hulled split mung beans thoroughly and soak them for at least 2 hours or overnight. Then, steam until fully cooked. Set aside to cool completely.
Step 2:
Pound the garlic, white pepper, and sliced shallots together until finely ground. Then add the steamed mung beans and pound until roughly mixed.
Step 3:
Heat oil in a pan. Add the filling mixture and stir-fry until fragrant. Season with salt and sugar, adjusting the taste to your preference to achieve a balance of sweet, salty, and spicy flavors. Turn off the heat and let it cool. Then, shape the filling into small round balls and set aside.
Instructions for wrapping khanom tian
Step 1:
Prepare banana leaves for wrapping the dumplings. Rinse them thoroughly with water
Step 2:
Form the banana leaf into a cone shape, place the prepared filling ball inside, then wrap itneatly. Arrange the wrapped dumplings in a steamer
Step 3:
Steam the dumplings over high heat with boiling water for about 30 minutes, or until fully cooked. Turn off the heat and remove them from the steamer0
